Can the DIGIWAY Spring Return be used manually?

Can the DIGIWAY Spring Return be used manually?

The DIGIWAY Spring Return is usually in semi-automatic mode. This means it works as:

  1. Power open (when triggered to open)
  2. OR manually push open
  3. THEN spring close.
If users push through the door, it puts tension on the spring mechanism and does not cause damage like it could with a fully automatic door operator.

The DIGIWAY Spring Return can be set to fully automatic mode where the motor assists opening and closing. This setup would negate the protection you get from semi-automatic mode. It also isn’t suitable for manual use due to potential damage to the motor if abused by users forcing through the door.

Fully automatic mode is ideal for access controlled pressurised rooms.
