Mobile-PASS: How to send a credential to a user's smartphone

Video

Introduction

Once you have loaded your AMC25 licenses into the ATRIUM interface, you will need to distribute the credentials to individual users.

There are three ways to send credentials:
  1. Send an automatically generated email to the user.
  2. Copy & paste the activation code and send it to the user.
  3. Scan the device on-site at a Bluetooth reader.
When you have sent the credential to the user, see this article to learn how to activate the credential on the user's phone.

Method 1: Email

This option has the added benefit of being able to send a Mobile-PASS credential to a user remotely.
  1. First, log into the ATRIUM interface as System Administrator. You can do this from within the ATRIUM interface on any device.
  1. In the Users menu, click on the + (plus) symbol next to the search box to create a new user.
  2. Enter the First Name and Last Name of the user and click Save
  3. Then, click the Cards tab followed by the + (plus) sign on the right-hand side to assign a new credential.
  4. Enter a descriptive Display Name for the credential.
  5. In the Card Format field, select KRYPTO Mobile-PASS from the drop-down list.
  6. Click Save, and then click on the email icon to send an automated email to the user.
The email will open in your computer's usual email client programme. You will need to enter the user's email address.

Make sure the email address you enter can be accessed on the smartphone that will be used as the access control credential.

Method 2: Copy & Paste

This option has the added benefit of being able to send a Mobile-PASS credential to a user remotely.

ATRIUM system administrators can quickly copy and paste all the Mobile-PASS activation information and send it directly to a user.
  6. Click Save, and then tap the blue copy & paste icon to copy the credential's activation code to the device's clipboard.
You can then send it through your preferred means of communication to the recipient's smartphone.

Method 3: Scan at a Reader

The quickest method to activate a Mobile-PASS credential is to scan the device at one of the Bluetooth readers on-site.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Then, click or tap the Scan icon.
  8. A pop-up will appear showing all the Bluetooth readers in the system. Select the most convenient reader to scan the user's phone, then press the Start Scanning button.
Once the system administrator has clicked the Start Scanning button, the reader will start flashing twice red and twice green to indicate that it is ready to scan the smartphone.

On the user's device, open the ATRIUM BT app and in the registration page, click the Scan button. Hold the device up to the reader until a green tick appears on the phone screen.

A pop-up window will appear in the ATRIUM portal to confirm that the activation has completed. Click OK to return to the card menu.

Remember:
It takes a few moments for the scan activation to complete. Hold the phone close to the reader until you see a green tick on the phone screen, and the reader shows a green light for two seconds and beeps. After a successful scan, or after 30 seconds, the reader will return to its normal blue standby status.
Don't forget to set up the user's access levels in the ATRIUM interface as you would with any normal access card, tag, or other credential. For more information about access levels, see this article
When you have sent the credential to the user, see this article to learn how to activate the credential on the user's phone.
