Can the DIGIWAY Plus work in wind-affected areas?

As the DIGIWAY Plus is power-open and power-close, installation in windy or draughty areas will need to be carefully considered.

The unit would need to be set up with strong forces to overcome any wind effect. In addition, the obstacle detection reactivity would need to be set to low, in order to prevent the unit reacting to wind force as if it were an obstacle.

While these changes may work to overcome the effect of wind or draughts, on still days these settings will cause the door to slam. Note that this could result in a dangerous installation.

For windy areas, we recommend that you use the DIGIWAY Spring Return instead. This operator will constantly close on a spring instead of powering closed. The obstacle detection should be disabled during closed when the DIGIWAY SR is in semi-automatic mode.
