What type of cable is required for Robin intercoms?

Robin intercoms require a network cable for operation. The devices are powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) and require network connectivity to operate. 

PoE can be supplied either via a PoE switch or with mains power and a separate PoE injector. The choice depends on the circumstances of each individual installation. 

We recommend CAT6 or CAT6e network cables for optimal performance of your intercom system. 

These cables will also keep your system future-proofed for longer.

NOTE: The Robin intercoms have a terminal block for connection, not an RJ45 plug. This is to improve the outdoor resilience of the intercom.
