How do I connect and secure the cables properly?
Robin intercoms use PoE (Power over Ethernet) to combine the supply of electrical power and network connectivity in one cable.
At the back of the intercom device, the individual wires inside the Ethernet cable must be connected via the terminal block according to the colour coding on the PCB. Refer to the installation manual for detailed information.
Once connected, the cables could be secured to the intercom housing using the tie wrap supplied in the product packaging. This helps provide strain relief and prevent tension on the connections, which can affect performance and reliability.
We recommend using CAT6 or CAT6e Ethernet cables for Robin intercoms, to ensure optimal reliability and performance.
